UNIVERSALLY ACCESSIBLE TRAIL
Work is underway on one of the most unique features at Boone’s Ridge, a universally accessible nature trail.
With over 35% of the US population having mobility impairments, this trail will allow all Boone’s Ridge visitors to “get out into nature”. It will be paved and inclines will be limited to five degrees or less, making it accessible for wheelchairs, strollers and electric assist vehicles. The trail will be just over two miles in length and feature several bypass routes that will allow users to craft a shorter hike if they prefer. The trail will feature shade shelters, benches, viewing platforms and informative displays.
